Grand Canadian Expedition of 2007

Headed north for Franco & Claudia's wedding in Montreal, caught the
end of the Montreal Jazz Fest and explored the city a little.

Headed up the St. Lawrence seaway to Riviere-du-Lupe and stayed in
the youth hostel. Awesome town, hip little town and nice hostel. Got to
throw the kayak in the St. Lawrence and paddle around for a morning.
Got super lucky and paddled into a large pod of beluga whales! Just
looked like some weird white things in the water, so I got closer and
belugas! Later on I was stalked by a sea lion.

Kept going up the St Lawrence towards Gaspe, then turned south and
stayed at Chateau Bahia - a cool youth hostel that looks like a castle.

Still raining a bit, so I did a long drive down to Nova Scotia. Found out
there are Tall Ships in Halifax this weekend. Off to Cape Breton and
then back to Halifax!

Hopped on "The Cat" a huge catamaran ferry the hauls from Nova
Scotia to Bar Harbor. Customs didn't like me because I'm unemployed!
Ha! Kayaked in Maine in the fog, and then headed south and ran into
Matt and Erika in Rockport and learned about puffins.
